The essence of the vacuum cleaner - Lutz Möller

April 27 - july 5, Geyso20 gallery, Braunschweig

Lutz Möllers´ artistic work is a reference to his life passion: appliances. Over 1600 drawings, realised also with unconventional material, document his passion for vacuum cleaners, nozzles or irons. Freshly laundered bed linen, hanging on clotheslines, flatter in the wind. We are delighted to show his first solo exhibition.

Since his childhood, appliances have been the artist's passion. His family encouraged him from the very beginning as his father sketched his son's favorite motifs in old calendar books. Lutz Möller used them to create “his own inner image of the objects” according to the great opening speech of PD Dr. Thomas Röske. Lutz Möller draws very quickly - with a great inner certainty and he creates balanced compositions creating a strong contrast to the spontaneous drawing process.

In their film, Tillo Huygelen, Martijn Van de Wiele and Jolke Van Aerde, filmmakers from Gent, portray an artist who keeps turning towards the studio community and who also enjoys entertaining his colleagues. Through the continuous act of self-insurance, whether by talking or drawing, Lutz Möller always confirms himself.

The exhibition catalogue, designed by Ina Hengstler, based on the the text "I Want to Break Free" by Dr. Andreas Bee is now available for purchase.

Visit the exhibition until july 5, monday to friday, 1 to 5 pm and by appointment.

Merit Schongar, student of the Fine Arts, HBK Braunschweig and Lutz Möller invite you all to their next talk on june 9, 3 p m. Feel warmly invited to coffee and cake as well.

The final tour will take place on june 20, 6 p m.
